Amaryllis aka The Latin Phoenix ®™ is best known in the Latin community for her sexy Latin image and passion for her music in the Latin Fusion and Salsa markets. Amaryllis is called The Latin Phoenix ®™ because she refuses to give up on her dream of sharing music and has realized that dream with her music being heard globally. Through the good and the bad times, she always manages to rise above adversity through prayer and her strong faith in God.

Amaryllis Santiago aka The Latin Phoenix ®™ is an International GRAMMY & LARAS Artist Voting Member and former Governor of The Philadelphia Chapter Recording Academy. She performs as a Solo Artist and with multiple ensembles, where you can hear her sing anything from Salsa, Merengue, R&B, Jazz, and even a bit of Country from her music catalog. She has performed from small venues to the main stage concerts and festivals.

With her recent move to Illinois, she has been collaborating with some of the finest musicians in the Chicago area for her upcoming music project, “Deeply Rooted” TBA-Fall 2017. In May the “Deeply Rooted” project was funded and sponsored by Mr. Frank Toohey and the Jazz Juice Radio Station in the UK. She forged a unique collaboration since 2013, with Raymond Fry. He is the Co-Director of Oracle Records, LTD and Lyricist & Head of A&R of Midas King Productions Intenational, who utilized the many talents of Songwriters, Composers, and Musicians from London UK, – Sweden – Russia – USA – Italy. She has been working on opening a music and arts studio for the last year in Elgin. Her vision of Arts and Creativity is to build human understanding, genuine community, and a shared commonality in this world through music. The Latin Phoenix ®™ Music and Art Studios is set for its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on August 5, 2017 with Artists booked all the way through October 2017.

She is set to release her fun and sassy single, “Sausalito Nights” on August 1, 2017. “Sausalito Nights” features Nick Colionne, (Courtesy of Trippin’ N’ Rhythm Records.) He is a Billboard #1 Artist. The song was finished in collaborations with Isaiah Sharkey. She met him through an interesting introduction by John Christy, Owner of Studio 2424 in Chicago. Isaiah Sharkey, is a GRAMMY Award winning Guitarist, Songwriter, Recording Artist, and Producer. After a brief conversation about the project, he put his guitar down and assumed the role of Producer, with John and Danny Christy being the Engineers.

On July 10, 2017 she was invited to participate in Dr. Deepak Chopra’s Panel which introduced his latest endeavor: “Home-Where Everyone Is Welcome.” (http://home-everyone-welcome.com ) She was invited to speak about her Family and their journey on ‘emigrating to the United States’ from Puerto Rico. She is among many talented artists to perform on the 12 Song CD which is an accompaniment to his book. She has the honor of joining Dr. Deepak Chopra on the song title, “Survivor,” which was inspired by 9/11 First Responder-NYFP William Jimeno.

She performed at Arts in Bartlett- Bartlett, Il. On June 2017 for their 1st Global Arts Music Festival. on May 2017 during one of their Special Art showcase in May 2017. She made this connection through Mrs. Woods an Arts Teacher at Highland Elementary School during Mrs. Woods Art Exhibit last November 2016. She has been booked for their 2nd Annual Global Arts Music Festival in June 2018.

After securing a Brand to Brand Partnership contract with Bashford Jewelers based in Seattle, Washington, she will be designing her own jewelry collection. The Latin Phoenix ®™ Jewelry Collection will be custom made by Bashford exclusively for Amaryllis The Latin Phoenix ®™. Each unique creation will have an engraved “The Latin Phoenix ®™,” on the inside of the ring. The customer will also be introduced her music and have the opportunity to purchase music through media outlets. She has a Master of Arts in Music and Third Sector Leadership from Regis University and a Bachelor of Science-Community and Human Services from SUNY Empire State College.

2017 truly has been a jump start musically. She scaled back her performances in 2016 as she got acclimated to being an Educator for 6th Grade Dual Language Students. Now, she is back with her usual laser focus, multiple projects and collaborations. She is currently enjoying a dual career of Music and Teaching. The key person who has been instrumental in her all of her Elgin connections is Mr. Steve Johnson-Highland Elementary School Principal and his Family. They believe in having strong community connections and she is extremely thankful for them and their support.

Through connecting with colleagues and peers, she started the “Elegant Monday” music series at The Smooth Fox in Downtown Elgin. She started the series in February 20, 2017. It ran every Monday until the club closed. She was connected to the owner Justin Hodges through Danise Habun.

She performed for the U-46 Forward Candidate Meet and Greet Imago Creative Center in Downtown Elgin, Il., on March 2, 2017.

She performed at L’Eiffel Bistro, South Barrington, Il. for TWO fabulous nights February 11 & 14th for the Valentine’s Day Special Theme. Both nights were sold out and had a Pre-fixed 4 course menu prepared by their amazing chef. She connected with Luis Cubillos, the restaurant’s General Manager through Dr. Luisa Laras. Dr. Laras is also a teacher at Highland Elementary School, Elgin, Illinois.

She was invited to share her talents in January at Elgin Community College for the Commemoration of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. -Elgin, IL. She was invited by Danise Habun and Dr. Rise Jones. Amaryllis Santiago aka The Latin Phoenix ®™ has performed at Sabor a Café and Mo Betta Jazz in Chicago.

Amaryllis was a Presenter and Co-Host in 2014 and 2015 for The Lehigh Valley Music Awards, at the SteelStacks® Campus in Bethlehem, Pa. She was one of the Co-Hosts alongside of Rhona Bennet and Lexi Lewis at the 34th Annual Chicago Music Awards, held at the Historic Copernicus Theatre, Chicago in 2015.

She was nominated and received an award in the Best Latin/Best Brazilian Music Category from GHP Radio Show in 2014. www.ghpradio.com

She was on the Judging Panel for The Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs (GACLA) Talent Recognition Show in 2013.

Amaryllis was the “Honorary Chair” for the EUP 10th Anniversary Gala in 2013. Estamos Unidos originated as a Latino community-based group in the Harrisburg area in 2002. The key person who has been instrumental in her all of her Elgin connections is Mr. Steve Johnson and his Family. Amaryllis’s company, “Syllirama Entertainment, LLC,” Produced and Promoted the legendary Jose Feliciano 2013 World Tour at The Forum, Harrisburg, PA. She performed as Jose Feliciano’s Special Guest and received a Governor’s Proclamation for her contribution to the music community.

The Full length CD, “No Me Doy Por Vencida” was submitted to The 14th Latin Grammy (r) 2013 “For Consideration,” in 3 different categories. The single, “No Me Doy Por Vencida” reached #34 in The Tropical Latin Charts. (Allmusic.com/Mediabase) It was produced in collaboration with Erben Perez (Mark Anthony’s Bass Player for 20+ years), and Craig White who is a 30 year veteran of all phases of the entertainment industry. Williams, and most of the Philadelphia International Records roster; Phyllis Hyman, Dexter Wansel, The O’Jays, and Lou Rawls.)

She released her Self-Published Book, “Poetry From Within” in 2010.

The “Sabor Latino” album was produced in collaboration with Aaron “El Kosherican” Levinson, Grammy Winner for Salsa Album of the Year 2005. Edy Martinez, also a Grammy nominee, arranged and played piano on her song. (As musical director he’s accompanied icons Ray Barreto, Gato Barbieri, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaría and Dizzy Gillespie. As a pianist, he has played with many legends of the salsa and Latin jazz world including Rubén Blades, Jerry Gonzalez, Celia Cruz, Alfredito de la Fé, Paquito de Rivera and others.)

The “Next Level” CD was her first original studio recording and received a Special Mention at Marché International du Disque et de l’Edition Musicale (MIDEM), the Cannes, France music trade fair. Amaryllis is the First Jazz Latina to have 2 songs in the Top 10 of MIDEM’s Preview Magazine in 2008. (#6 – Simply Me and #10 – VFW)
